Bigger and better –
Keyhouse 25 years on
It’s been an amazing journey since Keyhouse opened the doors of its first hostel at Keighley back in 1985. The fact that a demand for the hostel was first identified six years earlier is a testimony to the complexities of the sector and the determination of the people and agencies involved in getting it done.
Twenty-five years since that first Keighley hostel began catering for the region’s homeless, we’re very proud of the successful multi-discipline organisation we’ve become. Over the years we’ve expanded our advice provision, introduced NVQ training services, extended our reach into Bradford and North Yorkshire and steadily grown the charity with new talent and new resources.
Evolution has brought many challenges, but the rewards for our service users, our local communities and our paid and voluntary staff teams have always made it well worth the effort.
