Other services

Alongside our main services and activities, we also like to get involved in other projects that tie in with our wider aim to support people with housing needs.

Allotments

We’ve played a key part in setting up an allotment project working with service users from our own and other organisations. Working with service users in the Bradford and Keighley area, we provided plants for the silver medal-winning homelessness garden at Chelsea Flower Show, and we’re also working with a range of organisations to provide expertise on growing fruit and vegetables.

As well as a great project for learning new skills and growing people’s confidence, we’re now planning to help service users apply their new found knowledge to produce cheap and healthy food for their own dinner tables.

In the longer term, we’re working on a Grow, Cook and Eat programme based in the training kitchen at our Cavell House premises Bradford. This new project will sit alongside our existing Cook and Eat programmes, where some of the home-grown produce is already being used.

25 years of support

Twenty-five years since that first Keighley hostel began catering for the region’s homeless, we’re very proud of the successful multi-discipline organisation we’ve become.

How have we done it?
