Teenage parents
At Keyhouse we understand that teenage parents can face specific challenges and difficulties, and that’s why we’ve been offering specialist support to this group since 1994. Always ready to listen, our team offers a sympathetic approach and the kind of expertise that creates workable solutions suiting individual needs.
Support provided
We offer all kinds of support and advice to teenage parents, so it’s always worth calling to find out if we can help. Typically, we provide help with:
• Guidance and support to provide access to long-term accommodation whenever it’s needed
• Help with tenancy maintenance
• Keeping a home safe
• Developing life-skills to help you live in your own home
• Access to health services
• Access to education services
• Access to parenting skills training
• Access to employment, education or training
• Rights and responsibilities of tenants
Floating support
With a total of 22 places in the Bradford District, we’re able to provide support wherever the person needing it is already living.
Referral criteria
Our only referral criteria are that the person must be a teenage parent or a pregnant young woman under 20 years old, and they must be looking either for accommodation or support to maintain accommodation.
Referral methods
Referrals can come directly from the person needing help or from an agency that’s already working with them. You can download our referral form here on this website, or you can call 01274 738954 and make an appointment to speak to one of our experienced support workers about how we might be able to help.
Appeals
Our appeals process is part of our referral procedure: it means there’s always a second chance if you think our decision has been unfair.
Additional information
We’re always looking for ways to improve the services we offer to teenage parents, so we invite service users to take part in optional meetings and surveys to tell us what they really think about the way we do things.
